About Kimani
Hope Raisers youth group was formed in 2005 and registered as a community based organization in 2007 to use music as a media to respond to the challenges facing humanity particularly youths living in Korogocho slums and other slums in Kenya. Hope Raisers currently has about 4 youths all of whom come from Korogocho slums. Since its inception, the group has composed about twenty songs touching on social and economic justice issues such as unfair international relationships, which disadvantage African countries, youth unemployment, drugs and alcohol abuse, teen pregnancies and child labour. The local media has played some of these songs. However, due to financial constraints, the group has not been able to record most of these songs. Some of the songs include G8, Another World Is Possible dedicated to the World Social Forum, and Somebody Tell Me Why? And many other songs.
